Tim and Bianca had a lovely home but like most young families they wanted a large kitchen/dinner with a lounge area. In most properties this can built under permitted development, but Tim and Bianca lived on a very steep hill falling away from the rear of the house which meant this extension would exceed the height restrictions set out in the permitted development guidelines. Therefore a full panning application was made, incorporating a raised decking area to take full advantage of the panoramic views at the back of their home. We installed a large set of bi-folding doors and 3 large Velux windows flooding the area with natural light and finishing off with a lovely slate floor. The main focus of the kitchen became the range cooker, which we built in to the exisiting chimneybreast. We kept the brickwork exposed to contrast with the sleekness and modern feel of the extension. We created a large patio area using railway sleepers to create an array of raised flowerbeds. Tim and Bianca remain friends of Dreton and regularly recommend us to their friends and family.
